William "Chip" Rogers brings a wealth of leadership experience from the intersection of politics, hospitality, and strategic communications. With a distinguished career that spans public service, national advocacy, and executive leadership, Chip is recognized as one of the most influential voices in the American hospitality sector.
At GreatX, he lends his deep expertise to further our mission of democratizing wealth creation through innovation in real estate and finance.
Chip most recently served as the President and CEO of the American Hotel & Lodging Association (AHLA), where he led one of the nation's most prominent trade associations during a transformative period for the travel and hospitality industry. Prior to his role at AHLA, he served as President and CEO of the Asian American Hotel Owners Association (AAHOA), the largest hotel owners' group in the U.S., representing over 20,000 hoteliers.
Under his leadership, both organizations expanded their advocacy, policy impact, and member services, setting new benchmarks for industry collaboration and growth.
Before entering the hospitality industry, Chip built a respected career in public service. He was elected to the Georgia House of Representatives in 2002 and to the Georgia State Senate in 2004, where he served until 2012.
In 2008, he was unanimously elected Senate Majority Leader, a position he held through two terms. During his legislative career, Chip was a vocal advocate for education reform, digital learning, property tax reform, and data privacy.
Chip is a frequent speaker and thought leader on topics of innovation, policy, and real estate. As part of his association with the Sovereign Wealth Fund Institute (SWFI), he participated in a high-profile fireside chat at the New Age Wealth event, hosted by SWFI and supported by GreatX.
